| Oriental miniature painting is a canonical art reposing on centuries-old traditions, techniques and methods. At the same time, it has constantly developed and is now at its prime. Miniature painting, one of the traditional fine arts of Uzbekistan is mostly represented on paper but also on some materials such as leather, dried pumpkins, lacquer boxes and jewellery. While the style has remained traditional, with its exquisite technique and combination of colours, the range of subjects has considerably widened. |
